From the shadows into peace

Welcome to my journey through the fire of addiction, the turning point of recovery, and the discovery of poetry as a lifeline. This is the unpolished truth of where I started in Wichita, Kansas, and the living testimony of spiritual renewal, clarity, and resilience that guides every verse I write today.

Hitting rock bottom in the dark

There was a time when alcohol addiction pulled me entirely away from family, my responsibilities, and my own soul. Trapped under streetlights and facing an isolation that felt unbreakable, I reached the point of complete surrender. Lifting my head from the ashes, I discovered that God was not done with me yet. Grounded by the Serenity Prayer and the twelve steps, I chose absolute sobriety and reclaimed sanity.

Finding my voice through the pen

Spoken-word poetry became my direct lifeline to process trauma, silence mental static, and shed my old skin. Instead of turning to the bottle or letting anger consume my chest, the page became sacred ground to pour out unfiltered battles. Transforming raw street realities into rhythmic verses gave me clarity, grounded my spirit, and turned survival into purpose.

Stepping into leadership and mentorship

Healing is never meant to stay silent. Today, I turn my testimony into a bridge for others walking through their own dark corners. By speaking at recovery groups, schools, youth centers, and stages across the community, I share the fiery wake-up call of redemption. We break the silence, fight isolation, and build lasting strength through radical honesty and brotherhood.

"A clean heart and a focused mind can rewrite any narrative. No matter how deep the darkness runs, you are never too far gone to step into the light."
